Approximate IP location on page load

When you open the homepage or the IP address, country, or city pages, your browser requests an approximate location from GeoJS. The service receives your public IP address and ordinary request information. It returns an estimated city, region, country, coordinates, and area radius associated with that IP address. The pages display relevant values in your browser. This happens without a browser location-permission prompt, and the estimate may describe an internet provider or VPN rather than your actual position.

We use this request to provide the location estimate and network details the pages offer. Our basis for initiating it is our legitimate interest in providing those requested functions. The request is made without browser credentials. We do not store the lookup response in browser storage or send it to our server. Copying the public IP places it on your device's clipboard. GeoJS handles the request under its privacy policy; its practices are separate from ours.

When you request device location

When you press a device location button on the homepage or coordinates page, the browser asks for permission to access your device's position. If you allow it, the browser returns latitude, longitude, an accuracy value, and a time to code running in your browser. The page displays those values locally. The location tool does not send those coordinates to our server and does not store them in browser storage. Refreshing or closing the page clears the displayed result.

Embedded map

After the IP estimate returns coordinates, the homepage sets an embedded OpenStreetMap map with a pin at the approximate IP point. The map may load when it comes into view. This sends the approximate coordinates, your IP address, and ordinary browser request information to OpenStreetMap. The map initially does not receive your device reading.

If you choose “Show device point on map” or open a device map link on either location page, the device coordinates are sent to OpenStreetMap in the map URL. The same applies to the approximate coordinates if you open that separate map link. OpenStreetMap handles those requests under its privacy policy. Copying device coordinates places them on your device's clipboard. We do not request a street address.

The IP address and city pages also embed an OpenStreetMap map after a usable IP point is returned. Those maps send the approximate coordinates and ordinary request information to OpenStreetMap. The country outline map is served from this site; selecting a different country does not make a new request to a map provider.

Technical visit information

To deliver a page, the hosting infrastructure receives requests that normally include an IP address, requested path, time, and browser headers. These details can be used to operate the site, diagnose faults, and protect it against misuse. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in making the publication available and secure. Hosting records are retained only as needed for those purposes or an applicable legal obligation; exact periods depend on the deployed hosting configuration.

Messages

If you email us, we receive your email address and the information you include. We use it to answer the enquiry, review a correction, or handle a legal or privacy request. The basis is our legitimate interest in responding or, where applicable, a legal obligation. We keep correspondence while needed to handle the matter and any related claims or legal duties. Please avoid sending precise location details unless they are necessary for your question.

Analytics and advertising

This site loads the Umami analytics script from stats.kzfm.com on every page. It records visits and may receive the page URL, referrer, browser information, and your public IP through the network request. We do not send device coordinates to it as custom events. We use these statistics to understand readership and diagnose site use, based on our legitimate interest in operating this publication. The publisher profile names AdSense for advertising, but this site build does not load advertising tags. If advertising is enabled later, this policy and the cookie policy must be updated for the actual setup and consent choices.

Your rights

Where the GDPR applies, you may request access, correction, deletion, restriction, or portability of personal data where relevant, and object to processing based on legitimate interests. Where processing relies on consent, you may withdraw it without affecting earlier lawful processing. Send requests to info@admk.com. We may need to verify your identity before acting. You may also complain to the Spanish Data Protection Agency or another competent authority.
